Meet Sarah Rihaly

Sarah joined Team GSM in 2019 and serves as Marketing & Communications Director for Government Social Media® and Executive Director of the Government Social Media Association (GSMA). She leads marketing and creative strategy for GSM while overseeing GSMA’s programs, initiatives, and member experience.

A former journalist, Sarah graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a bachelor’s degree in English and minors in environmental science and journalism. Before joining GSM, her career took her from research roles at Yale University and USC to newsrooms including KABC-TV and USA Today.

Sarah loves bringing people and ideas together, finding creative ways to make things happen, and occasionally getting way too invested in the perfect turn of phrase.

Outside of work, you'll find her playing guitar, exploring on her motorcycles, or planning adventures with her husband and their crew of rescue pups.
