Golden Post Awards
Established in 2015, the Golden Post Awards recognize outstanding use of social media by government entities. The program is open to eligible government agencies in the United States and Canada.
Every day, government social media professionals manage high-stakes conversations, keep people informed during crises, explain complex issues in ways people can understand and help build trust with the public. The Golden Post Awards spotlight those strategies, techniques and results – and the people behind them.

Entry Fees
Your first entry is free
Unlike nearly every other awards program, your first entry is free! We're committed to serving government teams of every size and budget. Check your eligibility to enter.
This year, we doubled the entry period so you have more time to gather examples, coordinate internally and secure approvals. We also introduced time-based pricing to reward early action.
Why submit all 3 entries?
Additional entries give judges in other categories a chance to see what your team can do. Submitting three lets you showcase a mix of your strongest work and significantly increases your odds of being recognized. A Golden Post Award can support your case for budget, staffing and tools for years, so many agencies see additional entries as a small investment compared to the potential return.
Recognition can help you:
-
Build credibility with leadership and elected officials
-
Strengthen the case for staffing, tools and training
-
Boost morale for your team and colleagues who contribute content
-
Tell a positive story to your community about how you serve online
Why the Golden Post Awards exist
People who manage social media in government shoulder some of the most demanding work in public service. You are:
-
Communicating in real time when situations change quickly – balancing transparency, accuracy and humanity in the comments
-
Explaining complex policies in ways people actually understand
-
Building trust with communities that depend on reliable information
Since 2015, the Golden Post Awards have existed to make that work visible and valued!
