Participants learn practical skills for managing public sector social media and get unparalleled opportunities to network with agencies across the country, virtually! Major social networks, industry leaders & experts will share updates and strategies, and e-meet participants in the virtual networking areas.
GSMCON is for communicators, PIOs, elected officials, marketers, law enforcement, emergency managers – everyone from agency leadership to the occasional social media contributor.
The Government Social Media Conference (GSMCON) is the only major social media conference in the United States for government agencies. Everyone interested in learning how to strategically use social media in government is welcome to participate. Our primary audience includes city, county and state government in the U.S., public safety and we also see a strong presence from federal government, military and education. International and private industry are also welcomed to participate.
Virtual GSMCON2021 will be held during the originally scheduled dates, Tuesday, March 23 - Thursday, March 25, 2020. Workshops and a special virtual welcome reception will happen on Monday, March 22.
We look forward to hosting an amazing virtual experience that’ll be accessible to even more of our community. GSMCON will still be an experience filled with valuable training, networking & camaraderie — just now virtual! This won’t be your typical day of Zoom calls. Expect a program that best helps you learn the latest, need-to-know info through creative ways so you can still meet, get together and build your community over our virtual platform.
A lot can change in a year in the social media space, but we’ll be reaching out to speakers with still relevant topics, or topics that can be updated, to see if they’re interested in being a speaker for GSMCON2021. We will also open a Call for Speakers in late Dec. or early Jan. searching for topics that best help participants learn practical skills, get actionable advice & best help government professionals use social media better.
We’ve heard from many in the community that having the last Golden Post Awards during July 2020 was a great experience and gave many something to look forward to during the summer months. Due to the positive feedback, we’ll be holding the next Golden Post Awards during summer 2021 as well. Please join our newsletter for further updates on the entry period.
