About the 2025-2027 cohort council election

Candidates should be familiar with the latest edition of the Membership Guidebook (it includes a section on Elections procedures). To be eligible to run for a Council seat, nominees must have been a GSM Association member for one cumulative year within the three years preceding the election.

Regions up for election in this cycle for 2-year terms are:

• Southeast (Alabama, Arkansa, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee)
• Southwest (Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas)
• West (California, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah)

• Attend GSMCON2026 and 2027 for free as long as you're a council member! We cover your ticket, economy airfare and hotel (or, participate virtually if you can't attend in person). 
  
  

Responsibilities  

• Participate in monthly Council meetings via Zoom.
• Co-chair one committee (leading monthly meetings)  
• Participate in GSMCON either in-person or virtually
• Review GSMCON Call for Speakers entries
• Serve as a Golden Post Awards judge
• Lead your quarterly regional virtual meetups (4x/year) and co-host association webinars with Team GSM (2x/year)
