Government Social Media In-Person Events Returning 2022

Jun 28, 2021

Government Social Media is excited to announce in-person events are returning in 2022! Multi-day virtual events were necessary during the pandemic, but many of you have expressed the desire to get together in person again, while still including virtual options for those who can’t travel.

What does this mean for our events?

  • Instead of virtually this fall, the next Social for Safety Conference will be held in person in fall of 2022.
  • We’re bringing you a hybrid Government Social Media Conference in spring 2022, both in person and virtual. More details on the dates, location and more will be posted in the next few weeks.
  • We’re bringing back our in-person Golden Post Awards as a part of GSMCON2022.

Learn more about these announcements below

While S4SCON is on hiatus until next year, we’re excited to let you know more about our hybrid Government Social Media Conference happening in spring of 2022. We’re expecting a fantastic hybrid event which would allow government communicators to either meet in person or online, making our conference accessible to even more of our community. We’re currently in negotiations with multiple venues to secure the best pricing for attendees, and we’ll offer a range of prices for in-person tickets ($695-$895) or virtual tickets ($299-$499). Please sign up for our newsletter to get updates on registration info & location announcements, happening soon.

At GSMCON2022, we’re bringing back our in-person Golden Post Awards! This awards program — held virtually last year — recognizes outstanding use of social media by local and state government agencies in the U.S. Each category is dedicated to honoring government social media professionals for their hard work, including recognizing all the good work you did for your communities during the pandemic.

To keep the awards program top of mind this summer, join our GSM Community Facebook Group to vote in a special crowdsourced award happening over the next couple months. More details will be announced in the group soon.

Best communicate with the public you serve by becoming a part of the free Government Social Media network — only available to full/part-time employees of government or educational institutions.

We support the largest network of government social media professionals in the U.S. by guiding government agencies through complex social media issues. Government Social Media helps you successfully communicate with the public you serve, protect your agency and keep public trust while finding your support community.
