NATO joins GSMCON2023 keynote lineup! Measuring what matters most
We’re welcoming the North Atlantic Treaty Organization back to this year’s Government Social Media Conference!
Franky Saegerman, a Digital Analyst in the Information Environment Assessment team in the NATO Public Diplomacy Division, will take the stage as a keynote presenter at GSMCON2023 to talk about this crucial government social media topic: metrics.

Social media managers and operators frequently discuss which social media metrics matter most. At NATO, we combine a multitude of metrics to help us define which content is most impactful and how that influences our target audiences. What is Information Environment Assessment? Franky describes it in his bio as the “‘situational awareness function’ of Strategic Communications.” He explains the team works to not only measure the impact of NATO’s own communications, but also to analyze the global conversation about NATO.
Prior to joining this team, Franky was NATO’s Head of Social Media (2012-2016) and Head of Digital Insights (2016-2020). Franky previously joined us in Dallas, Texas for GSMCON2017, and we’re excited to welcome him back to this year’s event in Reno-Tahoe, Nevada!
