COVID-19 Policy & Protocols

Important! This is information for last year's 2022 event. Updates for the 2023 conference will happen shortly!

When you join GSMCON2022 in person, you can expect to see that health and safety is a priority, and that a range of measures are in place to ensure everyone involved is able to enjoy a safe, hygienic and productive event experience. COVID-19 has changed many aspects of our world, and the way we do business. Our attendees’ health and well-being are our priority and we will do everything in our power to keep you safe.

Masks

GSMCON will follow any public health requirements or mandates for masking. Currently, the Dallas, Texas, area does not have a mask mandate, so masks are not required at the event.

Hotel staff are currently required to wear a mask if they are not fully vaccinated. Mask policies have evolved across the country over the months during GSMCON planning, and you can expect some attendees to wear masks and others to not wear them. Please consider your own comfort level, mask according to your preference, and always be respectful to other attendees.

GSMCON will have disposable masks available at our Information Booth - please stop by to request one.

Vaccination

COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots for those eligible are highly encouraged. GSMCON will not inspect vaccination status.

Travel & Transportation

GSMCON recommends all participants review the CDC guidance on travel: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html. Be aware, the CDC requires masks at public transportation hubs and on all public transportation. This includes but is not limited to airports, flights, taxi/ride share, and local buses and other public transportation.

Ride-Sharing Services (Uber, Lyft)

Do you plan on using a ride-share service to get to/from the hotel or around town? Please note that many still require you to wear a mask while riding.

Sanitization

GSMCON will make hand sanitizers available throughout conference rooms for attendee use. Hotel and A/V staff will sanitize surfaces in common areas frequently.

Sheraton Dallas Hotel Protocols

Hotel staff provides "tidy service" on a daily basis (make bed & refresh towels if needed), they do not perform total cleaning or change bed linens unless requested. Hotel staff are currently required to wear a mask. The Sheraton Dallas cleaning standards and protocols are can be read in depth here: https://whattoexpect.marriott.com/daldh, including mobile-check in, enhanced cleaning and more.

If you test positive before traveling to the event

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be able to fully complete the CDC’s guidelines for quarantining and isolation prior to your travel, please contact us at [email protected] with your name, email, phone number, to inform us of your attendance status. You cannot participate in GSMCON in-person if you test positive.

If you test positive on-site at the event

Please follow these important next steps:

  • The venue requires that you call the front desk immediately and either quarantine in your room or leave the property.
  • Contact us at [email protected] with your name, email and phone number. Our team will be monitoring this email during the event.

We’re continuously working with the Sheraton Dallas Hotel and following guidance from the CDC and local jurisdictions on keeping you safe and healthy during the conference. These policies may be updated as the situation warrants.
