Congrats! GSMA Council votes are in
Aug 29, 2025Congratulations and welcome to the newest members of the Government Social Media Association Council:
- Southeast Region: Anthea Thomas, City of Fort Lauderdale, FL
- Southwest Region: Holley Mangham, Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency
- West Region: It’s a tie! The runoff election between Laura Magness and Heidi Yocum begins today, Friday, August 29 through 5pm PT Friday, September 5. Results of the runoff election will be announced Monday, September 8!
Following a self-nomination period, a week of voting, and a tight race, Anthea & Holley join returning council members Laurel McJannet (Northwest Region), Angela Ramirez (Midwest Region), and Kaitlin Keeler (Northeast Region) as the advisory body of elected representatives for 2025-2026. Learn more about each of the newly elected representatives!
How the West Region Runoff Election works
We’ll send West region members another virtual ballot to vote for either candidate—we encourage every member in the region to vote! If the runoff election results in another tie, the tie will be broken by the Executive Director and Council. Results of the runoff election will be announced Monday, September 8.
