‘Just do it!’ What past speakers say about GSMCON

Oct 04, 2022

The Call for Speakers for the 2023 Government Social Media Conference is open through 11:59 p.m. PT Friday, October 7, 2022! GSMCON2023 will be in Reno-Tahoe, Nevada, May 2-4, 2023, and is the largest social media conference for government agencies.

What we hear from attendees time and time again is the caliber of sessions and the expertise of the speakers — which makes GSMCON stand leagues apart from other similar conferences — but, what we hear from speakers is how fun, unique and exciting it is to be a major part of the event.

Each year, speakers take pride in sharing in-depth advice and top-notch tips, laser-focused on giving attendees the best social media training for government agencies. Plus, speakers get complimentary admission to the event and have a great experience, too! Here’s what past speakers have to say about being part of GSMCON:

Anndrea Harris, City of Wichita Falls, TX

“Hi guys, it’s me, Anndrea Harris, from the City of Wichita Falls. Just want to jump in to say be a speaker at GSMCON2023. I had the most amazing experience. I built some long lasting relationships, and built my confidence to be able to speak at additional conferences. And, just the overall experience has been awesome, and I would not trade it for the world. So, fill out that application, turn it in right now. You will be amazing. You have what we need to hear. So, just do it!”

Richard Yeakley, City of Longview, Texas

“Hi! I’m Richard Yeakley, and I was fortunate enough to be selected to present about technology and automation at GSMCON this past summer in Dallas. Now, presenting at GSMCON was tremendous for a number of reasons. First, you often learn more by teaching than you do any other way, and as I prepared my presentation, I became more familiar with my topic in a way that has benefitted my work moving forward. The other thing that’s really cool is that I was able to connect with a group of like-minded folks who are interested in the topic. I'm still getting emails from people who are asking either about my presentation or have ideas for their own ways that they can automate and innovate in their own work experience; things that I can borrow. You know it's important as we work hard to serve our constituents that we do it together as a community of government social media practitioners. It was truly a great experience for me in order to present, and if you have something you're knowledgeable and passionate about, we need to hear your voice. Please apply to speak at GSMCON!
